Our Letter to You

Dear Friend, It’s hard to know how to begin. I suppose the first thing we’d like to tell you is that we hope you aren’t feeling too overwhelmed. On top of everything else you may be going through, you must be encountering so many people desperate for a baby and sometimes their longing and love can feel like a lot. So above all, as you read this, please know that we do not mean to cause any distress or anxiety. We only want to introduce ourselves and help you get to know us. Our names are Adam and Madison. We live in Salt Lake City, Utah. We’ve been married for almost five years. Something we’ve always had in common (even before we began dating) was that both of us always knew if we ever had children we would want to adopt them. We have both seen first hand that you do not need to be blood related to someone to be their family. Families are the people who surround you with love. They are the people who support you and do what is best for you. We both are so lucky to have both biological and non-biological family members who are there for us. We have been licensed foster parents since the fall of 2020. We are home study approved and licensed to adopt. We had the incredible fortune of fostering a wonderful one year old boy for five months. It was such an honor and a joy to take care of him during that time. He has since been reunified with his mom and dad. After a few years on our adoption journey, we began to fear that maybe it wouldn't happen for us and perhaps we should try to conceive a child of our own. It was only then that we learned that both of us suffer from some fertility issues that make conception difficult, perhaps impossible. This only reaffirmed that adoption is the right path for us and our future family. As educators, we have seen first-hand the need for amazing parents in our community. We see the value of having a stable, loving family. We have determined that our household would be a wonderful place for a child to grow and prosper. We have a lot of love and care to give and we’d love the opportunity to have a child join our family. If you choose us to be your child’s family, we will be comfortable with any level of contact that you would like for the future. If you would prefer a closed adoption with no further correspondence, we support that. We will respect your wishes, and you can allow this to become a part of your past. If you want a semi-open adoption with letters and photos, we support that. We will send you updates and pictures as often as you would like. And if you would prefer an open adoption with visits, then we support that too. You, as well as your child, will be welcomed as a part of our family. We will embrace you with open arms. That is a decision that is so personal to you and we would never presume to tell you what is best. If you are interested in learning more about us, we would love to speak to you.
