Heather is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met, keeping not only myself and her close family members on her mind, but all of her friends, our neighbors, extended family, co-workers, etc. I admire the way she takes care of the people in her life and always makes sure they know they’re loved and needed. She’s also a fantastic baker, wonderfully crafty, and a happy person. She always manages to put a smile on my face when I’ve had a bad day.

Building Our Family Through Adoption
Our Letter to You
We thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about us. First, we want to acknowledge your bravery and strength for facing the difficult decisions ahead. Your selfless love will not be forgotten. It will be a part of your child's story forever. We will teach this child about the difficult decisions, selflessness, and love that a mother has for her child when considering adoption. We hope this letter gives you better insight into our journey and the vision we have for your child. Infertility has been a part of our journey to adoption. After we bought our first home, we tried to grow our family naturally. When that didn't work, we tried infertility treatments. After 1 unsuccessful round of IVF, we decided that adoption is the right fit to grow our family. From the beginning of our journey, we have always talked about adoption. It is something that we have kept in the back of our minds for almost a decade. Now that we are finally pursuing it, we feel content and happy with our decision. We are both big believers that God has a plan for all, and we feel that adoption was His plan for us all along. Through open adoption, we can build a stronger relationship and create a foundation of love and understanding for this child. We look forward to facing the challenges and joys this process brings. We want you to know that we will provide your child with every opportunity that life has to offer. We both work from home and are financially stable in order to provide for this child. We will unconditionally love and cherish your child, raise them with open hearts and open minds, and never let them lose sight of where they came from. We will teach, encourage, guide, share, challenge, cultivate creativity, spark imagination, and provide a warm and loving home for your child. We want to raise your child to be kind, selfless, confident, intelligent, empathetic, and independent. We will encourage them to be their best self and pursue their passions. Adoption will always be something your child can be proud of. We will speak positively about you and encourage a relationship that both you and your child are comfortable with. We want the lines of communication to remain open for the child's life. We will share stories often and send pictures and videos via letters, emails, and text. We hope to put a picture of you in our nursery so that, from an early age, we can cultivate an environment of love and understanding. Our promise to you is that we will always be grateful for your bravery and sacrifice in choosing us to parent your child. With love and admiration, Chad and Heather

Our Parenting Style
We want to be open and honest with a child from the start, when discussing adoption. We plan to start talking to him/her as early as age appropriate. We plan to start the conversation by using books and telling adoption stories. Later, we hope to extend the conversation to pretend play and discussions about the love, care, and difficulty that birth parents face. We feel it is important to start the conversation as soon as possible so that the child feels this very difficult decision was made out of love and care. We would love to have a picture of the birth parents to put up in the nursery. When having conversations with the child we would love for them to be able to see their birth parents and be able to make a connection to them early on. We want to encourage the child's curiosity about adoption and let them explore as much as they would like. We want this child to have every opportunity that life has to offer. We promise to unconditionally love and cherish your child, raise them with open hearts and open minds, and never let them lose sight of where they came from. We promise to teach, encourage, guide, share, challenge, cultivate creativity, spark imagination, and provide a warm and loving home for your child. We promise to raise your child to be kind, selfless, confident, intelligent, empathetic, and independent. Adoption will always be something your child can be proud of. We promise you that your child will know who you are and we will always speak positively about you. We will encourage a relationship that both you and your child are comfortable with.
